Finally after months & months of job hunting I have a second one! I'm going to be doing janitorial work at a new medical college. Not the highest job I know but the pay is nice in my book. The HR person wants me to start next week .

There's only one thing about this fortunate change of pace I'm not sure how to deal with. I just got approved for food stamps the other week and there's a rule with food stamps. "You must report all changes in income". The fault in not knowing how to deal with this is I don't know for sure how much I'm going to be making hourly. Everybody believes it's "around" eight dollars and hour but that's not a real number I can report. Think I have to show a pay stub to the people providing the food stamps? I haven't have to do this in years.

First off, I don't know the first thing about food stamps, so I can't help in that respect.

Second, that's great to hear that you're back on your feet! I'm glad to hear that things are going better for you.

I don't know about there, but here you just inform them of your new job and about how many hours you'll be working. You must inform them of the new job within 10 working days. They will send a paper to the new job for them to fill out. The new job will include the hourly pay and hours you'll be working. You might want to talk to your new boss and inform them that you are currently getting food stamps. Some.. I repeat some employers help out as much as possible to see that you don't lose all your benefits.

Last night was my first night on the job. ..BUSY! It turns out Wednesdays are the hardest nights. It's really some thing how janitors quote 'un quote become part of the "club". They are prompted to peek in a certain room while people are working in it and ...it's going to be a long time before I can eat ribs without a certain image ringing to mind.
